Man, I think this deck has the potential to make great use of Counterbalance. You have such a high concentration of 2 CMC that with it in, the opponent would essentially be unable to play cards at 2 CMC =P

It's certainly not for everyone. It's a completely different way of thinking, and the vast majority of people will find playing Extraction a frustrating affair...It's a warning I always try to give to anyone who wants to try out the deck type. I know 6 Extractors including myself. 2 of my friends at our local shop, and then 3 others who I talk to through email, etc. who are all very far from each other and myself.

We are a rare breed =P

I screwed around with the concept of creature blasts with Bitter Ordeal, but it just makes the whole thing so much more focused/specific...That's what makes Pox so damn good, it effects damn near everything!

Poxtraction is called such because of how vital Pox is to making it work -- something I found out much more when trying to do it without Pox recently...

Glad you like this man, I think it works nicely =] And everything is better in Orzhov =P

Yeah we have some specific cards banned (because they abuse/destroy tribes too easily), and we also have some tribes banned. Wolves aren't banned, but Elves are, so I actually can't use my Elf/Wolf deck =P

I'll be sure to check out your deck, as it might also give me some ideas on how to make a singularly Wolf deck =P

Added in Skullclamp, but isn't Painter banned in EDH?

Anyways, I made a new design of Modern Extraction, if you'd like to take a look =P

I have ran into that problem too, the deck is fast and so puts down its hand pretty early on. It's an issue that I've been toying with improving, but I'm not sure what I want to take out =P

I tend to bring back some card afvantage by the fact that this deck has so many threats, and can use the cards on the field as spells themselves in a sense. I can also have virtual card advantage when a few cards, such as Deathbringer especially, add uses and versatility to cards...essentially giving you a 2-for-1. Deathbringer, for example, makes most cards gain (in a way) "when you play this card, destroy target creature".

Honestly man, I'd love to, but I just plain gave up on that damn program. I can't get it to work =/

For now, I say we'll agree to disagree?

I suppose you have a point in that, but I don't think that has anything to do with the archtype honestly. Very few people build Extraction decks, even fewer know how to play it properly, and even fewer still do all that and are skilled enough for the tourney scene. In addition to that already tiny percentage, most players don't care to play in tourneys anyway.

My point is, I think it's much more a factor of how rare a tourney-winning Extraction player is. Quantity well over quality =/

I took it verbatim (how's that for latin =P) from the poem, so even though it is technically wrong, I felt it would be better to keep it as is =]

If I were you I'd drop to just 2 Chants and add in 2 more Ondus. Those dudes are obnoxious =P

I can tell you from experience that when you can get your hands on ~2 Waves...put them in ASAP. Genesis Wave with Herabaz = insanity

I like it, but there's a few things that don't sit well with me. Acidic Slime isn't very mana efficient, and I never really understood its appeal in general TBH...

Harrow is better for the speed that Stompy wants over Cultivate, so that's an easy change. And finally, Nature's Lore isn't all that useful =/ I'd drop them for a second Rite, which is awesome for this design...even though it might not be in other designs =P

With the other 3 I might try out Khalni Heart Expeditions or Maybe Scute Mobs. The choice is up to you really =]
