True-Name is already seeing play in both formats, and I expect to see even more of it in the future. I just know something like that is just waiting for a deck that will abuse the hell out of it...Like some goofy version of Stoneblade or something =/

Basically yeah. You can suspend it and set things up for a nasty hit with Bitter Ordeal, etc.

I don't think I understand the question. It's more aggressively designed?

Kinda yeah. I do have an EDH here or there with an infinite combo, but I try to shy away from them. Good ol' sexy synergy for me =]

I like how you say you don't play legacy "yet". =]

Glad you like it =]

That is what it translates to, but I wasn't referring to Silent Hill (didn't know it came from there actually). It's from unabridged versions of the Iliad.

.........I'm a huge nerd, I know =P

There's something about Midrange Dirt that I just can't help but love. It's one of my very favorite deck archetypes. It doesn't do anything special, has no real "tricks" or "bombs"

...it's just good.

I'll be totally honest with you, when I was putting this thing together, Torpor Orb completely slipped my mind. Worse, I have yet to have a game where I've had to deal with it, so it's STAYED out of thought. It will be a big problem though (I know a few of the decks played in my group have the Orb) so thanks for the reminder. I'm gonna have to do some shaving to fit in some artifact removal spells and such (aside from what I have now).

I'll have to see if I can make room for a sword or two in here, but I'm not too fond of Voltron strategies.

Haven't had too many issues with consistency, but I figure I can finagle a few tutors in, yeah.

I think I accidentally put in Priest over Hunter, mixing the two up. Thanks for the reminder =P

I see no reason I can't abuse Prophet AND have ability spam =D

I'll be honest, I have a strange love/hate relationship with Mystic Snake. However...VERY good question about Deadeye and Venser. Gonna have to add those guys in for sure.

Thanks a lot for looking at this like you did. I like it when people have the balls to give solid constructive criticism like this. You certainly have helped make this a better deck =]

PAL still uses Bitter Ordeal and Living Death actually. And yeah, being the most dependent on damage of the three, PAL would make great use of Psycho Probe. It could even kill someone outright.

And I agree. I also think people find fascination in the idea that you can win not by actually "winning" per se, but by the fact that there's no feasible way you could lose =P

Absolutely you can use psycho probe. It's a great card for extraction (even though none of mine use it haha).

You can't copy tabernacle because it's legendary. Even though thespians stage begins as a different land, when it copies, it copies the legendary aspect as well, so you lose it.

Extraction searches out cards from the opponent and removes them from their deck. That's the most basic definition of the archetype. However, rarely can you win by just removing cards...at least not without support. Iso-Seek, which is what this deck is, uses a lot of special cards to lock up the opponent while you pick apart their deck. Another kind of extraction, PAL, is more of an aggro deck that removes the opponent's defenses. Extraction is a means of keeping the opponent from winning, not necessarily a means of making them lose. Extraction wins because the opponent can't =P

Were it me building this, I'd opt for two Sorins in place of the BS and Crusader...but that might come down more to preference.

I've made an Inky EDH, and I have to say, I didn't think about using Heroic mechanics...Might have to add a few of those to mine.

I forget if I used Æther Mutation in mine, but I think it's one of my favorite tricks in here.

There are some remarkable similarities =P

That said, these kinds of decks are VEEERRRY specific, and really only work with a certain set of cards, so it's not as farfetched to find so many similarities as one might think.

I'll be completely honest with you, I don't have any good reason for not putting her in. Might even be a good inclusion...I'll have to try some things out.

In EDH it's a phenomenal card...but in legacy it rarely sees use. There are decks that use it, yes, but I would not count Stax among that list.

Inkwell might just be my favorite blue creature of all time.

I once asked Arty (who used to play Vintage Doomsday Gush) what it's like playing a deck like that. He responded, "If you ever want to know how many 'wrongs' make a 'right', just ask someone who has played Doomsday Gush."

This is my 4,000th comment. Thought it'd be fitting to have it on a deck built by the guy whose deck was the FIRST comment I ever had on this site.

Alright, sappy stuff aside. Though I miss the days of old where this deck would have slapped people around with the Iron Giant instead of Oneshot Robot...gotta say it looks fun.

Gotta say I'm a bit surprised you haven't delved too deep into EDH. Seems like it would fit like a glove for you.
