That's some frame to work within, that you've created.
I'd have to salute you for your solitary confinement concept...

I can suggest field of dreams and wand of denial if you want to turn the deck in a more lockdown-ish direction. Both cards must have something like millstone or grindstone to support them. You win by denying them the cards that they need, which can be a support solution to solitary confinement, as you will have two ways of being protected...

I also miss seing extract in the sideboard...

No, you should not add counterspells. Instead click on my name and take a look at some of my designs.
(Or start using surgical extraction in your mainboard)

I would advise you to get rid of howling mine as it only mills 1 card each turn. Instead use jace's erasure which will still mill them for 1 each turn and without giving them a card to defeat you. Or you can upgrade and use mesmeric orb, which will really mill creaturedecks away.

Alternatively you can try something entirely new:
Remove those weakling mindgrinds (They are laughable with only 20 lands), Add mountain mana and the RB-cascade card that cascades cost 2, that way you have 16 ways of milling 7+ cards... This strategy demands that you get rid of all 1costs, so what do you use your turn 1 for? Use it to play shelldock isle...

I can see that a lot of thought have been put into it, so I won't grumpy you too much!

You've marked it as legacy, and I've played a similare deck at legacy.

There are two differences between our designs.
1: You based it solely on wall of blood, and does not have cavern of souls. Get it or fail!!!
2: You based it solely on wall of blood, while I use mogg maniac + fire covenant too and as such have two combo's in my deck to kill with.
(Turn 1 play manaforge cinder, turn 2 play mogg maniac and attack with cinder, turn 3 play fire covenant.)
or
(turn 2 play mogg maniac and zuran orb, turn 3 play fire covenant)

How do I overlap the combo's?

Through ragged veins, a card that you should seriously consider!
(Turn 1, dark ritual and wall of blood. turn two, pass, and when they attack put ragged veins on their attacker and pump!)

But what if they don't have a critter?
(Use forbidden orchard, most opponents love attacking with gift-1/1's.)

But what if they get too many of the critters?
(thats where mogg maniac + blasphemous blast gets a role to play)

Sideboard a spellskite and you should be on your way ;D

Most use the azazel314 version, but I know at least 1 person in here is building on the aggro variant

4 Echoing truth in sideboard against leyline of sanctity :)

But since you wont know if they play it before after game 1, it's important to shift it in regardless of what you know about their deck. At third game you can always side them back...

I've played mill for years (at least 3).

Some of my decks have beaten legacy elfcombo, so my designs should take ordinary elves as well.

Go click on my name and search through the decks.

Two of the moderndesigns have won top in modern tournaments recently.

I've had a trend of playing mill that goes way back. (at least 3 years)
I've never had the pleasure of milling selfmill, but there are two factors.
1: Any milldeck must face the fact that some decks exploit their graveyards, so mill must have defence against this. Stuff like leyline of the void, darkblast and surgical extraction are good stuff.
2: What gets milled is more or less random, but in general strategies fall apart when keycards are no longer in a deck. If selfmill loses it's keycards it dies.

Overall I think pure mill has the advantage due to point 2, but I have seen a lot of gravebased decks beat me despite gravehatred. But watch out for mind funeral in any case :)

For the deck above I can suggest mesmeric orb. The more players move, the more it mills, and if your design can "move"/tap stuff, it will fit right in.

Go click on my name and look at the decks in there for inspiration.

Two designs among the modern decks have won tournaments recently.

Says more than most.

If it ever gets tournamental you will need a well-classified name.

Mesmeric orb is a good card on it's own, milling about 8 cards from your opponent in average in a 5 turn game, so try it out without the other cards too :)

Heh, 11 hours is not a long response :) some answers turn up after a month because some people aren't that regular in here...

If the purpose of your deck is fun for both opponents, you might want to include mesmeric orb! mesmeric orb is a very powerfull card on it's own. If you drew and played 1 land each turn and played 4 mesmeric orb in a row, and tapped out every single turn, you would die exactly at your turn 7, so it's not particularly dangerous to your own deck, and will slow token-players down a bit. It will be a fun card as both players will get the dilemma of playing the cards drawn with your draw-stuff, or to atempt to let the other player mill themselves to death. It adds more thought to the battle that way, so people can't just play EVERYTHING, but has to chose what to wage war with.

Read undead alchemist again :)
It's split up in two parts, and with mesmeric orb you get to trigger part two :D

If a Zombie you control would deal combat damage to a player, instead that player puts that many cards from the top of his or her library into his or her graveyard.

Whenever a creature card is put into an opponent's graveyard from his or her library, exile that card and put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield.

In that case, why not use the blue zombieproducing zombie related to mill? whatsitsname?
When you damage your opponent they get milled, when their crittters get milled you get more that will beat him. (The specifics on the card can be exploited with mesmeric orb, as the tokens get generated by any sort of mill)

Mesmeric orb is used by both of the pro millers so consider using it alongside jace's phantasm and shelldock isle...
